A Sacred Pilgrimage to Mount Kailash, Tibet

  • Multi Destination Journey
  • Cultural Immersion
  • 11 days; 10 nights
  • 2 to 10 travelers
  • Begins & ends in Kathmandu
Mt. Kailash and Lake Manasarover -- hidden in the Western region of Tibet -- make up one of the most venerated holy places in the world. At over 22,000 feet, Mt. Kailash is sacred to the Buddhists, Hindus, Jains, and Bons. It is thought to be the center of the universe -- the abode of Lord Shiva. Although it is a supremely sacred site for four religions and billions of people, it sees only a few thousand pilgrims every year. The reason for this is its inaccessibility -- no planes, trains, or buses travel anywhere close to it. Spend 11 days traveling through the Himalayas and be one of the few to reach this sacred site. Beginning in Kathmandu, you will quickly enter the sacred Himalayas, journeying through remote Tibetan villages and crossing the Kerong border. If desired, inquire with us to arrange another route such as flying into Lhasa. Upon arrival, you will embark on the Kailash Kora, a three day spiritual journey around Mount Kailash. Many pilgrims embark on this journey to gain extra merit or psychic powers. Take a plunge into Lake Manosaravar, the Lake of Consciousness and Enlightenment.read more
