I am a trained ecologist and biologist and I haved moved to Dornod to become a herder in 2012 after studying and living in several countries including Germany and the US. My passion is to promote local development through sustainable farming. I try to offer a comfortable place to stay for my guests as well as an authentic experience to help them learn about farming in the serene and beautiful steppes of eastern Mongolia
Start the trip by exploring the area and the lake nearby. This first day will be a good opportunity for you to relax, walk around, and get to know the surrounding area. At our farm, we welcome you to a calming environment. As the farm is located in the endless steppe in the Dornod province, you will be separated from distractions.
We plant vegetables including tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants and other greenery in our greenhouse. Today, you are welcome to join and help out if you want. In addition, we run a research center dedicated to exploring what kinds of plants and vegetable can grow in our area. Your input and experience-sharing are highly encouraged.
We will cook together with the vegetables harvested from our greenhouse and meat from our livestock. We will be happy to teach you to cook Mongolian dishes, or we can cook your favorite meal together.
On your last day, we will take you to see the eastern Mongolian steppe and the wildlife that resides there. Visit local families and take part in the herders' daily chores.
